functional lab testing options
Lab testing is essential to finding the root causes of your chronic pain, PCOS symptoms, and IBS symptoms.
Having a practitioner who is trained to help you get the most accurate results and to know what to do with the results is equally important.
I’ve listed the most common tests I use with clients below.
why test with me?
You may be able to get your labs from a traditional provider, and might even see them covered by insurance if you do. But lab results are not the only thing that matters when it comes to addressing your health.
The practitioner you choose is just as important as the lab.
You want a practitioner who…
is experienced in finding root causes of symptoms
will work to get you the most accurate results
will walk you through the findings
will provide personalized recommendations to help you move forward
honors your investment the same as they would for themselves
understands what it’s like to seek answers and be dismissed

gut microbiome test kit
($532)
A comprehensive, at-home stool test for gut health, this lab is used to find imbalances in the microbiome, dysbiotic and inflammatory bacteria, severe candida overgrowth, viruses, and parasites.
It also tests for inflammatory and digestive markers to help us understand how your symptoms might be showing up.
COMMON SYMPTOMS THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM TESTING:
chronic diarrhea and/or constipation
anxiety or other mood symptoms
sleep issues

food sensitivities, especially grains and dairy
craving carbs/excess appetite
test for candida overgrowth
($460)
A comprehensive, at-home urine test for candida overgrowth, clostridia strains, nutrient deficiencies, metabolism, and mold exposure.
COMMON SYMPTOMS THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM TESTING:
chronic constipation
anxiety or other mood symptoms
sleep issues
skin rashes or redness
autoimmune disease
abnormal thyroid levels
brain fog
chronic fungal or yeast infections
fatigue
chronic inflammation, including IBS symptoms

test for mold toxicity
($450)
There’s mold exposure, then there’s mold toxicity.
When mold is threatened, it produces toxins known as mycotoxins, which require a different approach than mold exposure.
This at-home urine kit tests for eleven different mycotoxins produced by molds commonly found around the home, car, or workspace.
COMMON SYMPTOMS THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM TESTING:
hormone imbalances
electric shock sensations
ringing in ears
anxiety or depression
digestive issues
low blood pressure
dizziness when standing
test for cortisol and DHEA-S
($310)
Tracking cortisol levels throughout the day is the best way to see how they may be affecting your symptoms.
Aside from moments of stress, cortisol should follow a diurnal pattern that spikes shortly after waking, and gradually falls to its lowest point at bedtime.
This test tracks cortisol levels throughout the day to help us better understand sleep issues and can indicate whether there are underlying stressors you may be unaware of.
Testing for DHEA-s helps us to understand the health of your adrenal glands, which are responsible for producing cortisol.
COMMON SYMPTOMS THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM TESTING:
hormone imbalances
sleep issues, insomnia
waking at 2:00am to pee
catching a second wind in the evening
PCOS symptoms
“hangry” when meals are delayed
rely on caffeine or sugar to “get going”
food sensitivities test
(prices vary)
One of my favorite tests to recommend for clients with chronic inflammation and pain symptoms.
Food sensitivities are commonly misunderstood, and incorrectly confused with food allergies, or food intolerances.
Additionally, the recent influx of cheap, commercialized IgG food sensitivity tests has made it difficult for clients to understand that IgG is only part of the picture and that more information is needed.
This at-home dried blood kit is offered at three price points, depending on which foods you consume most (determined at consultation).
96 foods: $470
144 foods: $578
240 foods: $656
other types of testing
The tests listed above are the most common for my clientele. However, other types of testing can be provided if needed.
